Claire Leslie Expresses Her Colorful Creativity
and Electric Energy in Twenty Something

words by Miranda Urbanczyk
Christian pop artist Claire Leslie channels her love for the Lord and life experiences through her
newest EP Twenty Something. With its enthusiastic lyrics and undeniable pop beats, listeners
can’t help but bop their heads along to the music.
The first track, “Scared” discusses the fear we carry in our lives and how that can weigh on a
person. Instead of tapping into this fear, Claire reminds herself that God is fearless. If he’s not
scared, then we should trust in Him and the plan he has for us.
When I think about the future
I get in my head
Get a little worried bout
What comes next
But you’re not scared
So I’m not scared
“Passenger Seat,” the second song of the EP is all about letting God work in your life. It’s so
easy to want to control the outcome of our lives.Whenever we try to do this, nothing goes
according to our plan. This is because God’s plan exceeds anything that we could possibly
imagine for ourselves. We just need to trust him, and let him take the lead in our lives.
I’ll let you drive
Wave my fear goodbye
I’ll put up my feet
We can go anywhere
I’ll take the passenger seat
The title track, “Twenty Something” is all about Claire’s experiences in life and what she’s
learned throughout her life. She thanks God for His control over her life, because without him
she would be lost.
“Falling At The Thought Of You” is a love song to the Lord, where the musician declares she’s
staying for the long run. I love this concept, as the idea of the Gospel and God’s sacrifice is so
powerful. Even the thought of God, his sacrifice, and how He has worked in the lives of many is
something to fall in love with.
“Original” talks about self-expression, being true to yourself, while simultaneously being true to
your faith. The last song off the EP, “24/7” is all about God’s never ending presence in the lives
of His children. It can be so easy to forget God is always with us, this song serves as a reminder
that the King of Kings is ALWAYS with us! Likewise, “24/7” is a celebration of this fact, praising
our omnipresent Lord.
Above me
Below me
You’re all around me
I can’t help but stay close
Twenty Something is infectious, echoing truths for all believers through catchy pop tunes. Claire
Leslie continues to shock fans with her memorable sound and messages.
